About Me

Hi! Welcome to my blog! I’m a twenty-year-old student at the University of Maryland, College Park. I’m a Chinese and communication double major who is studying abroad in Chengdu, China on scholarship for the current, academic school year. If you’d like to know what it’s like for a student who has only taken a plane by herself once to live in China for a whole year, then you’ve come to the right place! I will try my best to update this blog several times a week. Hopefully every couple of days if I can swing it. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you stop by again soon!

Oh and before you explore the blog, check out my Prezi presentation on why you should study abroad in China, how to fund your trip by winning the Gilman Scholarship and what to expect when you arrive in China! I am so happy I found your article about being brown in china, I have been in shenzhen for two weeks and I’ve experienced everything you talked about. Thanks for sharing, I feel much better since reading your story.
I am Polynesian (Maori /niuean) from New Zealand living in china for the next 12months, teaching English.
    All the best !
